Vietnam: Bim Son Cement has ordered a vertical roller mill to grind clinker and slag from Loesche for its 4Mt/yr plant in Thanh Hóa province. The new mill will have a throughput of 250t/hr and be able to grind input materials into Ordinary Portland Cement PCB 40. The order also includes a silo, blower, filter and a packing plant. The new mill is scheduled for commissioning in August 2017. No value for the order has been disclosed.
The subsidiary of Vietnam National Cement Corporation (VICEM) previously commissioned a mill from Loesche in 2000. This was followed by a raw mill and a coal mill in 2006.
China: Hebei Zongheng Group Tangshan Fengnan Iron & Steel has ordered Inba slag granulation and dewatering equipment as part of a new 12Mt/yr iron plant. Capital Engineering & Research Incorporation (CERI), the general contractor, has signed two contracts with Paul Wurth for engineering and supply of four sets of Central Feed Bell Less Top charging systems as well as slag-related equipment for the four blast furnaces at the new plant. The Inba order covers eight dewatering drum units under hot water system, which is quite commonly adopted by local customers.
All four blast furnaces of Tangshan Fengnan’s new plant are scheduled to be commissioned in 2018. A fifth blast furnace may be built after the hot commissioning of the first four furnaces.
Russia: Severstal has ordered four Inba slag granulation plants with dynamic dewatering of the slag sand from Paul Wurth as part of a contract for design and supply of technology and equipment for the reline of Blast Furnace No. 5 ‘Severyanka’ at Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant. Severstal’s installations will be the first use of this technology in Russia.
“The fifth blast furnace has been operating for over 14 years and this refurbishment project is expected to more than double its lifespan," said Alexander Shevelev, chief executive officer of Severstal.
The order also includes a Bell Less Top charging system with a hopper volume of 80m3 and a chute transmission gearbox with a pressurised cooling system. The blast furnace top gas will be cleaned by a Paul Wurth two-stage top gas cleaning plant. Auxiliary facilities at the plant will be built in 2018 and 2019 and the main equipment will be installed in 2020.
India: Sagar Cement has ordered a vertical roller mill from Gebr. Pfeiffer for grinding granulated blast-furnace slag and granulated blast-furnace slag cements. The mill will be used at a new 160t/hr slag grinding plant at the cement producer’s Bayyavaram Village unit near Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. Delivery is scheduled to take place before the end of 2017. No price for the order has been disclosed.
The order is for a MVR 5000 C-4 mill equipped with a 4300kW-drive and four grinding rollers with active redundancy. The plant will grind granulated blast-furnace slag with a fineness of about 4,500 cm²/g acc. Blaine and it will also be able to grind composite cements from varying portions of granulated blast-furnace slag, fly ash and gypsum.
Core components of the mills, including the roller, tension system, grinding bowl and planetary gearbox, will be supplied from Europe. The mill foundation parts, the housing and the integrated high-efficiency classifier of the type SLS 4750 BC will be provided by Gebr. Pfeiffer India. The local subsidiary will also supply most of the equipment required to complete the grinding plant, including the plant fan and hot gas generator.
Gebr Pfeiffer receives order from Cemminerals for grinding plant
26 January 2017Belgium: Gebr Pfeiffer has received an order from Cemminerals to supply a grinding plant for slag and cement. The plant, in Flanders, will use a MVR 5300 C-6 type mill. The order was taken in December 2016 and the mill is scheduled for commissioning in early 2018.
The Pfeiffer MVR 5300 C-6 slag and cement mill will be used to grind five different cement qualities as well as pure slag to three different fineness degrees. The mill is guaranteed to achieve capacities of 132t/hour pure slag, ground to 5000cm²/g acc. to Blaine, and of up to 200t/hour CEM II, ground to a fineness of 3500cm²/g acc. to Blaine. The mill main drive is designed for an installed power of 4600kW, and the SLS 4750 BC high-efficiency classifier, mounted on top of the MVR mill, enables high material fineness degrees of up to 5000cm²/g acc. to Blaine.
In addition to the MVR mill the contract includes handling equipment, two in-feed devices to enable moist slag and dry clinker to be fed to the mill separately, the plant filter, the plant fan, the magnetic drum separator and all ductwork including chutes, expansion joints and the stack. The scope of supply also includes a hot gas generator for the heating of the mill, as well as all electrical drives, starters, frequency converters and the electrical switchgear.
Ecocem France orders Loesche mill for Dunkirk plant
07 November 2016France: Ecocem France has ordered a Loesche type LM 46.2+2 CS mill for a slag cement grinding plant that it is building in Dunkirk. It follows a previous order by Ecocem of a LM 46.2+2 CS mill for the dry grinding of ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) at its plant at Fos-sur-Mer.
The LM 46.2+2 CS for the plant in Dunkirk is designed for the grinding of cement clinker and granulated blast furnace slag at a capacity of 105t/hr GGBFS. The gearbox will have a capacity of 3150kW.
All the mechanical equipment for the grinding plant starting from mill feed to the product discharge into the product silos is included in the Loesche scope of supply. The Loma heater type LF 28-L will be a full-inlined type designed to burn natural gas as well as blast furnace gas. The burner supplied by Loesche will be the MSBZ type, complete with fitting rack and local switch cabinet.
The lead-time for the main components of the mill and for the additional units included in the scope of supply is 6 to 13 months. The commissioning of the vertical roller mill is planned for the middle of 2017.
Ecocem’s grinding plant will be installed close to Arcelor steelworks for use of their granulated blast furnace slag. This LM 46.2+2 CS will be the seventh Loesche vertical roller mill installation for slag and cement grinding in France.
Sri Balaha Chemicals orders slag mill from Loesche
20 June 2016India: Sri Balaha Chemicals has ordered a LM 35.2+2 CS vertical roller mill from Loesche to grind slag at its Hindupur grinding plant in Andhra Pradesh. The mill is designed for grinding granulated blast furnace slag, it will have a production capacity of 50t/hr and the material will be ground to a fineness of 4000cm²/g Blaine. The contract also includes supply of a mill fan, dampers, expansion joints, a magnetic separator and a metal detector. The lead-time for the main components of the mill is 10 months.
Loesche India, Loesche’s subsidiary based in Dehli, will be handling the order. A similar mill has been operating at a cement plant in Bhavanipuram since 2001. Loesche India has sold over 100 vertical roller mills for the grinding of raw material, coal, and cement to various clients in India. World firsts for Loesche India include the LM 69.6 a six roller mill for raw material grinding, the LM 56.3+3 CS and the LM 63.3+3 CS.
MI Cement orders Loesche slag mill
13 June 2016Bangladesh: MI Cement Factory has ordered a slag grinding mill from Loesche for its Munshigonj cement plant. Blast furnace slag will be ground to a fineness of 4000cm²/g Blaine. A lead time of seven months after signing the contract is scheduled for the main components of the scope of supply. The gearbox is to be supplied to Bangladesh within nine months. Commissioning of the Loesche mill is scheduled for May 2017.
Indonesia: PT Krakatau Semen Indonesia has ordered a slag grinding mill from Loesche for its Cigading grinding plant in Cilegon, Banten. Krakatau Semen will use a Loesche mill with an LDC classifier to grind ground granulated blast furnace slag to a fineness of 4500cm²/g. The scope of supply for this contract also includes the raw material transport system, the mill dust extraction system, the reject system and the silo equipment. The mill is scheduled for operation by the first quarter of 2017.
Subsidiaries of Loesche are participating in the contract. Loesche ThermoProzesstechnik is supplying the grinding plant with a hot gas generator type LF-36L (fully inline) for the combustion of industrial diesel oil. Automation of the plant is supplied by Loesche Automatisierungstechnik. Loesche Indonesia will provide a service contract including personnel services. In addition, Loesche will monitor the local production as well as the assembly and commissioning.
PT Krakatau Semen Indonesia was founded in November 2013 as a state-run company. In a joint venture with PT Semen Indonesia, PT Krakatau Semen Indonesia is building its first plant of this type with a planned production of 0.75Mt/yr.
Yoo Gyeong CM orders Loesche mill to grind slag
26 February 2016South Korea: Yoo Gyeong CM has ordered a Loesche mill to grind granulated blast furnace slag at its KyungNam terminal. It will use a LM 41.2+2 CS type Loesche mill with a capacity of 90t/hr at 4500 Blaine. The gearbox of this mill will have a power output of 2800kW.
The scope of supply for this order includes the filter, the fan and the hot gas generator. All of the equipment is to be delivered in 6 - 9 months' time and the mill is to be put into operation as early as October 2016.
Yoo Gyeong CM owns gravel works which it has equipped with its own cement mixing and loading terminals. It currently purchases ground slag to operate its plants.
