UK: Henrik Adam has been appointed as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Tata Steel Europe. He succeeds Hans Fischer, who has decided to step down from the post. Fischer will continue as a non-executive director and will continue to advise TV Narendran, CEO and managing director of Tata Steel. Adam will also join the board of Tata Steel Europe and report to TV Narendran.
Adam joined Tata Steel Europe in 2011 as Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to this he held a wide range of roles at ThyssenKrupp including CEO of ThyssenKrupp Electrical Steel. He has also been a director of EEF (now called Make UK), the UK’s manufacturers’ organisation, and chairman of WorldAutoSteel, the automotive group of the World Steel Association. Born in Essen Germany, Adam is a mechanical engineer who started his career as a scientist in vehicle safety technologies.
Cope Willis appointed as Vice President of Sustainability and Environmental Solutions at Harsco
12 February 2019US: Harsco has appointed Cope Willis as its Vice President of Sustainability and Environmental Solutions. In this newly created role, Willis will be responsible for driving Harsco’s environmental and corporate sustainability initiatives. He will lead efforts to integrate and embed sustainability throughout the company, and will serve as advisor, subject matter expert, and key influencer in business development efforts.
Willis joins Harsco from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he served as Director of Sustainability Services. He reports to Harsco Chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) Nick Grasberger. He holds a BA in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia and a PhD in Earth Science from the University of California – Santa Cruz.
F Nicholas Grasberger III appointed as chairman of Harsco
30 October 2018US: Harsco has appointed F Nicholas Grasberger III as chairman of the board of directors. He succeeds David C Everitt, who has served as non-executive chairman since August 2014 and a director since 2010. Everitt has been appointed independent lead director.
Grassberger was elected to the board in 2014 following his appointment as president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the company. He joined Harsco in 2013 as chief financial officer (CFO) and has held progressively responsible financial and operations executive positions throughout his career. Prior to joining Harsco, Grasberger served as the managing director of the multinational Precision Polymers Division of Fenner. Before joining Fenner, he served as the CFO of Armstrong Holdings, the parent company of Armstrong World Industries, and later as CEO of Armstrong’s Building Products division.
Additionally, Carolann Haznedar has been elected as an independent director of the board. Haznedar is the recently retired Senior Vice President, Americas for DuPont Performance Materials. She holds more than 30 years of management experience, leading several global businesses in different industries during her tenure at DuPont.
UK: Gary Brennand has been appointed as the Group Commercial Manager at David Ball Group. He has worked in the construction materials industry for 17 years, starting his career as an aggregates and asphalt technician before moving on to commercial, operational and general management roles in companies such as Aggregate Industries, Hope Cement and the Breedon Group. Brennand holds an MBA in Business Administration.
UK: Kostas Koutselas has been appointed as the Group Technology Manager at David Ball Group. Previously he worked in senior technical and research roles for Aggregate Industries, Unibeton and Fosroc, including international positions in Dubai and Qatar.
Ireland: Ecocem Ireland has appointed Micheál McKittrick as its Managing Director for Ireland and the UK. His role involves the management of all aspects of the Irish and UK operations. McKittrick is a Chartered Engineer and graduate of Trinity College Dublin. He previously worked in several senior roles with Atkins Consulting Engineers.
US: Drew G Burns has been appointed as Marketing Coordinator for the Slag Cement Association. He will work to expand the market for slag cement through marketing communications. Burns holds over seven years’ experience in both for-profit and non-profit organisations in variety of marketing functions. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Resources with an emphasis in Commercial Recreation and Business from Michigan State University.
